Overview
Originally the goal was to create a fun, retro font to be used for simple postcards with acronyms commonly used in texting. As the project developed, I could see the font being used in many different cases, but especially in an ad for any summer related things (sales, drinks, events, etc); hence the name "Summer".
Approach
I started with the serif font, Bodoni 72. To give it the retro vibe, I widened the stems and bowls considerably to increase the contrast between the thick and thin parts of the letters. Then, I added the embellishments to the tails and terminals.
